fulvio bonavia.

Take me there.

Those were the first 3 words that popped into my head when I saw Fulvio Bonavia‘s landscapes.

Deserted and some a bit eerie, but I would love to explore.

kristin-lee moolman.

There is something about Kristin-Lee‘s photos that I really love. Not quite sure what it is, but I find the desaturated colors somewhat calming. At the same time most of these have a fun (sometimes quirky) feel to it.

That must be it, the contrast between those 2 elements. What do you think?

Visit her website and look at the rest. There are quite a few boobies, which is why they did not make their way over here. Trying to keep Narrylikes ‘boob-free’ although you will most likely find a pair in the archives.

Thanks to Gina for sharing this lovely link on Twitter.

meet gonzo.

Gonzo is a real cutie. You tend to speak puppy language when you see him. Kinda like baby talk. It is bad.

His daddy, David, took the photo.
David takes photos of other things too – like these Belhar ballerinas that I love.

I think you will love it too.

hug a pup.

Some people sky dive, some swim with dolphins.
It is therapeutic for some, it makes the rest go yeahhhh!

I like to hug a dog. My kinda therapy.

Is that not the cutest (and at the same time – most beautiful) photo you have ever seen? Those eyes.

Thank you JessieRoth for taking the photo and thank you Miss Moss for sharing it on your blog.

Is this one of the most beautiful photos you have ever seen? Thank you David Kaplan.

The moon and Venus over Switzerland.

“Sometimes a morning sky can be a combination of serene and surreal. Such a sky perhaps existed before sunrise this past Sunday as viewed from a snowy slope in eastern Switzerland. Quiet clouds blanket the above scene, lit from beneath by lights from the village of Trübbach. A snow covered mountain, Mittlerspitz, poses dramatically on the upper left, hovering over the small town of Balzers, Liechtenstein far below. Peaks from the Alps can be seen across the far right, just below the freshly rising Sun. Visible on the upper right are the crescent Moon and the bright planet Venus. Venus will remain in the morning sky all month, although it will likely not be found in such a photogenic setting.”

the coveted.

The Coveted will remind you of The Selby, but you will see more shoes.

Why?

“The Coveted, founded by Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark, is a new way of looking at the creative process and influences of some of today’s most recognized global tastemakers. The Coveted takes you inside the closets of internationally influential cultural forecasters, showing us what culminates in their personal style – one item at a time.”

P.S. By now you should know that I love the rainbow colors.

Thank you James and Karla Murray! They took photos of “The Disappearing Face of New York” and published a book.

The type of book that will keep you busy for hours.
Sad, that some of these stores are not there anymore.

nychildren.

Every now and then there is a photography ‘project’ (or series) that I love. One that I want the whole world to know about. Kinda like Downtown from Behind.

This one is different though.

Danny Goldfield
is photographing a child from every country on earth. All in New York City. 172 complete. A few to go.

He really captures the personalities of these children and the photos (yes, colors) are beautiful.

You can order the book at Amazon, or Danny’s website. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek.

love you.

where the wild things are.

It is by far one of my favorite movies. All time favorite movies.

We all want certain things in life, but people do not always understand why we do things a certain way. The things that make us unique. Different.

Sometimes if feels as if we have to live in our own little world to make that happen. To focus on the important things and to figure out what it is that we really want. There are times when it feels as if everything is spinning out of control and then there are times when we have to get a little wild to get what we want.

Wild is a good thing, you know? Besides, who wants to be like everyone else? Hmph.

Oops. Almost forgot about the editorial.

“We got inspired by the movie Where the Wild Things Are to photograph a story about a wild child, close to nature. Our model, Sophie (Touche Model), is really hyper active, so a bit wild herself. This made her the perfect person to envision our Wild Thing.”

Next year I will replace my tiara with a yellow cardboard crown.

And braids, more braids.
