the inspired life.

Do yourself a favor and look at the larger photo. Beautiful. The perfect bedroom. Neutral colors, a few spot colors here and there – and light. Lots of light.

I just love “The Inspired Life” section on the fashion label, Cole Haan’s website. Which is where I found the photo of my favorite bedroom.

“Cobbling together a life from what inspires you (family, friends, art, nature, community, competition, adventure, love) is the ultimate individual sport. We admire those who jump in with both feet, who seek out the sweet spot between ambition and satisfaction. The ones with a renegade sensibility, unwilling to settle for anything less than brilliant. So if the shoe fits…”

The photo was taken by The Selby and it is definitely worth having a look at the rest.

And I of course need the Verona Air T-Strap in Woodbury (Brown). It even has Nike Air technology. Holla!

The Selby is one of the websites I go to probably once a week. I have seen all the photos a few times, but I can still look at it over and over. There is something about seeing how other people live, that makes me feel at home.

These are just a few randoms I clicked on today. Not necessarily my favorites and in no particular order, here are a few randoms from The Selby.

“The Selby is in Your Place.” The book will be out soon. Narry needs this. Please? I do not ask for much, but this is one of the top 5 items on my wishlist.

I have been intrigued by Sean Brown‘s blog, but most of all his work. His determination and his hunger for creating what he loves. From day one I noticed the love he has for what he does and he is the type of guy anyone can look at and know that he is doing something right.

New York City based (British) fashion photographer is known for his editorial spreads that are regularly featured in magazines like Vogue, W and AnOther Magazine.

Not only do I love the Marion Cotillard editorial he shot, but according to Narry – he is one of the best.

You can see more of his work at Papermode and Art+Commerce.

Right, I am adding this to my Favorite Editorials list.

“Inspired by her powerful and chameleon-like portrayals, we decided to cast Marion Cotillard in our very own Fashion Performance. The current Lady Dior proved to the world she was master of both film and fashion when she elegantly carried off that Jean Paul Gaultier mermaid dress on the night she won Best Actress for her role as Édith Piaf. We looked to the work of the 1960s Fluxus movement to inform this one-off performance, full of intriguing yet unexplained meanings. In AnOther Magazine 18 the narrative continues in an interview, where Cotillard reveals her heroes, her passions, and the contents of her handbag.”

All photography by Craig McDean. Big fan. You will love him too.

The name to remember. I am in love with another ferosh, gay boi – Christian Siriano. He is the the youngest winner of the fourth season of Project Runway. Before the show, he worked as a freelance make-up artist and made wedding gowns for private clients. Then the show happened and BAM! – beauty.

The fabric used for these dresses are digital prints of the ocean. See? This boi is creative and thinking out of the box is his thing.

Christian designs his own shoes too and some of his ferosh shoes are even available at Payless.

And then of course, there is bridal.

All the photos are from his New York Fashion Week 2010 Spring Collection. Now make me pretty.

Use nicetranslator is you do not understand that. I kid, I kid.

De wachtende spijker is Dutch for “The Waiting Nail”. I’d like a few of those and it reminded me of the construction workers at Rockefeller Center. This photo was taken on September 29, 1932 on the 69th floor of the GE Building.

I have a framed version in my apartment and my stomach turns every time I look at it, but I love it oh-so-much.

You can customize your own design too, not only by choosing the leather, but also the fabric.

Beautiful handmade leather bags (and a few other designs), by Canadian father, Nik and his son, Jack.

At Palmer And Sons we make all of our designs with only our own hands in Vancouver, Canada. My son Jack and myself design, prototype and produce each design one at a time from start to finish. Using traditional methods, heritage materials and vintage tools to bring you designs that are timeless and peaceful in their principles. We hope you enjoy our limited issue designs, we feel they speak to a slow, calm, and more enjoyable mode of life.

There is something about this photo that I love. Something makes me want to look at it again, and again.

Shot by Ivan Terestchenko for the Yves Saint Laurent post mortem series.

There’s no better thing than when people come together. Just look at this line up. Danggg.

Something cheesy about this at the same time, but let’s rather not go there.
