jeremyville community service announcements.

Been loving these for a while now and every time I check, Jeremy updates his “community service announcements” with a few more.

Jeremy, please do not stop. Thank you in advance!

message of the day.

You already saw the photo of the day, now it is time for the message of the day.

Instead…

I love Recovering Lazyholic.

travel.

“There’s a level of travel that you can achieve wherein you almost cease to exist as you have been known to yourself. I don’t mean it as in a feeling of meaningless, or emptiness, but a sort of new kind of existence takes place. You become just particles in motion, closer in frequency to a ghost or something. You might think what I’m writing is crazy, and if you do, I suggest you grab a backpack and hit the road for a while. And when your body says it’s time to go home, don’t. Just keep going. I promise you there’s a high on the other side more memorable and beautiful than you can imagine.”

places that make happy.

Happy, happy! There aren’t many things that make me happier than this view.

When you turn around and look straight ahead and kinda to your right (at night) you will see this very bright spot between all the other tall buildings. What is that? Times Square of course.

Ohhh, I love this city too much.

More amazingly beautiful photos by Jason Hawkes.

i want an oven.

Narry’s Hole (my apartment) has a tiny kitchen and this tiny kitchen does not have space for an oven. Boo hoo. I miss baking. Which is probably why I like Joy, the baker.

Another reason why I love Joy is because red velvet cupcakes are one of her favorite recipes. I love Billy and Joy’s red velvet cupcakes remind me of Billy.

Right, back to the oven. With almost no space, I am thinking small. Unfortunately the Easy-Bake oven is the only thing that came to mind. Do you think it might be able to bake red velvet cupcakes?

oh just do it already.

“Eliminate the word impossible from your thinking and speaking vocabularies. Impossible is a failure word. The thought ‘It’s impossible’ sets off a chain reaction of other thoughts to prove you’re right.” – David J. Schwartz from The Magic of Thinking Big

“When you believe something is impossible, your mind goes to work for you to prove why. But when you believe, really believe, something can be done, your mind goes to work for you and helps you find the ways to do it.
(via Philosophers Notes)

Which takes me back to the “job vs career vs calling”.

I really think I have found my career, which will eventually turn into my calling. Not over night, but it will definitely happen.

It is time to DO and time to stick to it. No matter what. The easiest thing is to distract yourself and slow yourself down. How? Oh my every little excuse.

Sometimes there are “bigger” excuses and sometimes it involves moving on and losing people, but beautiful Kandee Johnson said something earlier and that something will stick and it will make me work even harder.

“Sometimes, if you’ve lost a love one… you can take that love you have for them, and go after all your dreams and hopes, with them as your ‘heavenly encouragement’. Take that love for them, and let it help me your confidence, when you feel you can’t do it anymore… do it for them!

So set your goal and work towards your calling and also remember do it for yourSELF. Of course.

Geddit, geddit!

the inspired life.

Do yourself a favor and look at the larger photo. Beautiful. The perfect bedroom. Neutral colors, a few spot colors here and there – and light. Lots of light.

I just love “The Inspired Life” section on the fashion label, Cole Haan’s website. Which is where I found the photo of my favorite bedroom.

“Cobbling together a life from what inspires you (family, friends, art, nature, community, competition, adventure, love) is the ultimate individual sport. We admire those who jump in with both feet, who seek out the sweet spot between ambition and satisfaction. The ones with a renegade sensibility, unwilling to settle for anything less than brilliant. So if the shoe fits…”

The photo was taken by The Selby and it is definitely worth having a look at the rest.

And I of course need the Verona Air T-Strap in Woodbury (Brown). It even has Nike Air technology. Holla!

selby randoms.

The Selby is one of the websites I go to probably once a week. I have seen all the photos a few times, but I can still look at it over and over. There is something about seeing how other people live, that makes me feel at home.

These are just a few randoms I clicked on today. Not necessarily my favorites and in no particular order, here are a few randoms from The Selby.

“The Selby is in Your Place.” The book will be out soon. Narry needs this. Please? I do not ask for much, but this is one of the top 5 items on my wishlist.

by sean brown.

I have been intrigued by Sean Brown‘s blog, but most of all his work. His determination and his hunger for creating what he loves. From day one I noticed the love he has for what he does and he is the type of guy anyone can look at and know that he is doing something right.

every home.

Every home needs a kitchen with a big sink and a big counter.

Every home needs a comfy seat and spot colors.

Every home needs a pup.

Spot the pup. Kill the clutter.

Every home needs light. Big windows and lots of natural light. Hello big kitchen window.

And according to Narry, everyone needs a home in Brooklyn.

Love.
