nissan leaf.

Have you seen the new Nissan LEAF™ (Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family car)?

It is not the best looking car I have seen, but it is 100% electric. No gas.

Plus, it calls or emails you if you forget to plug it in. I might forget to plug it in on purpose, just to get that call. Tee-hee.

The Nissan LEAF™ ad campaign might feature a cute and cuddly polar bear, but take a minute to think about it. Think of something that forms a part of your daily routine – something that might be able to stop this from happening.

It is okay, you can start small.

eco lids.

Clever and eco-friendly lids by Jack Bresnahan, who is a recent design school graduate. I love student work. Still so fresh and always creative thinking (well, for some).

What makes me love him even more? He said: “anything that ends up in landfill is simply poor design”. Amen brother!

Time to eat more guava halves, because I will need a few more tins.

the strange country.

Infographics make happy. Motion and infographics make even happier (well in this case it does).

sunbox.

Clever ideas. Out of the box, into the sun – clever ideas. Thanks to designer Jinsic Kim.

How does this Sunbox work then? It plays on this theory that on your way out to work, you hang out the device on your clothesline and when you get back in the evening, it’s all charged up. Latch it on to your TV, Music System, hairdryer; basically stuff that you use only when you’re back home!

missing water.

Whenever I buy bottled water, I look for the bottle with the most water in it. There is usually one in the back that is almost filled all the way to the top, but these water bottles are missing some water! Approximately 50ml out of every 500ml bottle. The rest is collected and sent to countries that have the little-helped but terrible problem of a lack of clean water.

andrea.

Designed by Mathieu Lehanneur and David Edwards of harvard university, Andrea is an air purifier which uses indoor plants to filter air. I am soooo intrigued by this guy, his concepts, products… he has beautiful ideas.
