This Mexican coffee shop, designed by Mexican studio, Hector Esrawe – in collaboration with Ignacio Cadena is the type of place I would love to go to. Order a cup of coffee (and maybe a little, crunchy snack) and talk, talk, talk, talk, talk!

“The café’s name was inspired by the song Cielito Lindo, which was written in 1882 by the Mexican composer Quirino Mendoza y Cortéz. The song contains the phrase ‘México lindo y querido’, which translates to ‘cherished and beautiful Mexico’ – words that remained central the project.”

There is writing on the ceiling too. Now you know.

What does your office look like? Dull and boring with blue industrial carpets? Yeah, pretty much – it is an office.

I am very thankful for companies like Inhouse Brand Architects for coming up with much better (and creative) ideas. I am also thankful for companies like Union Swiss who are open to suggestions. Both companies must have very happy employees.

These interiors would definitely make me happy – that is for sure.

The reception desk reminds me of something from the future, or just the one you see in Ugly Betty.

I am not a fan of people sitting in glass boxes, because you are not on show like a fish in a bowl – but this looks nice. Look at the rug on the right.

There is a kitchen with lemons on the counter (my kind of thing) and they even have recycle bins. So they get points for being clever* and kind.

There are orchids in the bathrooms – for the ladies of course. Do not worry boys, we love the color of your walls more.

Just when you think it cannot get any better, you will notice the spiral staircase. These scare me, but anyway – it has to lead to something special, right?

Of course it does – the garden. Tadaah! Love.

* Recycling is not always the answer.

Time to buy a more brown boxes, my chunky black markers have been feeling lonely.

Nice, sleek design huh? Unfortunately, I do not have space for it, because my cordless* is currently on the floor. A cordless is a phone you have at home – before cellphones made an appearance – it stays at home.

Psychic drinking glasses.



“An empty glass resembles a meaningless colorful mosaic, until a liquid is poured into it, revealing its name. Each side of the glass is reserved for a specific drink. The Dekrypt glass though complex in appearance in fact runs on a very simple idea. Differently colored shapes are scattered across the glass surface in a seemingly random pattern, however their position is hardly accidental. The true purpose of the glass mosaic is revealed when colored liquid is poured into it (orange juice, milk, Nescafe or coke) The pattern of shapes and empty spaces on the glass combined with the color of the liquid inside the glass end up forming a textual sign, revealing what exact drink or refreshment you are having, with each side of the glass reserved for a specific drink. Besides being a novelty item with entertainment value it can also serve as a marketing item for beverage companies as it has a promotional potential.”
