pip wallpaper.

If this post looks odd, do forgive – I am using WordPress on my phone for the first time. If it works, then ‘woo-hoo’, ‘yay’ and ‘yeeha’ all at the same time.

Back to Pip Wallpaper. This morning I went to a 5 storey fabric store for a browse and somehow ended up on the upholstery floor.

That is when a giant hot pink book distracted me (not very hard to do). How can you walk past something so bright and happy-looking? Not to mention beauuutiful, and again – bright.

I want (need) this sample book. Please.

Prepare yourself for the worst photo of the year (or maybe the last 3 years?). Is it possible for an air conditioning unit to affect a phone like this? Liiines. Laugh.

Note to self: Invest in a small camera that you can carry in your bag at all times. Cellphone photos are not allowed. These should be banned.

get the hang of it.

There are clever people with even more clever ideas out there. How do they do it? All the time. Non-stop. Cleverer and cleverer.

Get the hang of it is a shopping bag by DEDE DextrousDesign. It has a detachable hanger that you can use to hang your new clothes up. These are colorful too.

Now do you see what I mean? Too clever.

studio ve.

Interesting shelving by Israeli duo Shay Carmon and Ben Klinger – Studio Ve.

Most of these shelves will only have space for a small selection of your books, so it might be an ideal spot for your favorites, or the ones that you are currently reading.

Okay, I have to admit – I only posted these because of the little Spiderman. Did you see him? Scroll up.

“Ve” is the Hebrew word for “and”.

You might want to have a look at their other designs too, including the Toast-ER. Adding it to my wishlist.

Tee hee.

Oh, how I love Mr Williams.

I have been watching a few ’Visions of Visionaries‘ interviews by MADE - and it is because of this video that I discovered ARTST.

Pharrell has created an online community for artists, ARTST Guild & Gallery, to share their work, their ideas and their passion.

“We created this network to give people an opportunity to get the visibility they deserve, to reach into the sky. Members can upload and showcase anything creative: music, architecture, painting, or even fashion, and then comment on the work of others and collaborate with each other. More than just a gallery, it’s a guild for those who create art.”

What happened to the ‘i’ in the word artist?
“There is no I because it’s not about me.”

Thank you Mr Williams! I really do love you.

cheers.

My Moxy Creative obsession continues.
Their latest poster series is dedicated to the 2010 World Cup and beer (of course).

The countries include Argentina, Brazil, Chile, England, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Paraguay, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Uruguay and USA.

Disappointed that you did not include South Africa – the host’s - local beer, Moxy. Tsk tsk tsk.

P.S. I wish it was Oktoberfest every month. Oompah.

write a bike.

Ride? Nope, write a bike.

Now if you can put all the pieces together and actually make this work, then I would love to have a Narry bike. A pink one, and a blue one for my Mamas. Hers can say ‘Tinka’.

Yes, I am placing orders. While I am at it, who else wants one?

These are by Juri and he is working on a prototype. Yay for Juri.

what to do with a bub.

the future of the book.

IDEO creates impact through design.

As usual the colors made me look at this. Then I clicked on the play button and now I am lost at IDEO’s website.

Boy, am I loving this? Uh huh, but I still love paging through my books though. It makes me a little sad to think that one day we might not have real books?

If you want, you can share your vision for The Future of the Book.

P.S. All the other IDEO clips are worth the watch.

horsey.

Like the Flobots track “I can ride my bike with no handlebars, no handlebars…”

Maybe not with this bike, because you will end up being black and blue.

It does not matter, because I would love to have a ‘Horsey’ bicycle by Eungi Kim from Korea. ‘Horsey’ has been shortlisted for Design Boom’s ‘Seoul Cycle Design Competition 2010‘.

Please deliver my ‘Horsey’ to Oupa’s farm. The red sand dunes and purple water tanks will be your landmarks.

one for you.

Every time I see this business card, I cannot help but smile. How clever? You can have one, but you might as well share it with someone else.

I just love it when people think.

And what about Top Shelf?

Smile.
