self-sterilizing door handle.

A few months ago, I noticed this dry patch on my hand. I went to the pharmacy asking all sorts of questions and wanted to get a cream to make it all sexy again. According to the pharmacist, it looked like some sort of an allergy to ‘something you have touched’. Of course I asked him like what and one of the things he mentioned was a door handle in a public space (or anything really).

Since then I try not to open a door using my hand, well I do not exactly use my foot, I just do not want my hand to touch a door handle. It gets creative at times.

Then my dear darlings I noticed this very clever concept by Choi Bomi (Red Dot Design Concept winning entry).

It should be illegal for a door not to have this.

How many doors handles did you touch today? Ew.

get the hang of it.

There are clever people with even more clever ideas out there. How do they do it? All the time. Non-stop. Cleverer and cleverer.

Get the hang of it is a shopping bag by DEDE DextrousDesign. It has a detachable hanger that you can use to hang your new clothes up. These are colorful too.

Now do you see what I mean? Too clever.

document extractor.

Now what do we have here?

I like new gadgets that I would like to have/use, and the Document Extractor is one of those gadgets.

It is a computer monitor – not sure what you like to call it, but it is also a printer (above).

And a scanner. What? A screen, a printer and a scanner? Yup, all-in-one.

Another function that I love about the Document Extractor is that you do not have to print the entire screen. You can crop the section that you would like to print and voila! – saved some ink.

You can thank designer Byeong Min Choe for this one.

Gimme gimme gimme!

neighbor dining.

One of my new favorite things. Really, fa-vohhh-ritt!

“Today, more and more people live alone and according to a late study, loneliness is a bigger health threat than alcoholism, obesity and smoking. What if we could fight it with something so simple like eating, and at the same time, save energy?”

My house or yours?

eco automatic.

Now what do we have here? A sink. An Eco Automatic sink.

Small, huh? That is because you can only see the one half.

Where is the other half? Under the counter top. You put your dirty dishes into the sink, swing the sink around and it will wash your dishes for you.

But that is what dishwashers are for. Yes, but this takes up less space (in some cases) and wait for it. There is more! It has a function that washes fruit and vegetables too. Yes, I know we have hands to do that, but I will not mind having this few-in-one piece of eco goodness.

You can thank the designers, AHHA Project, for this clever, eco-friendly design. Make sure you look at all their projects too.

Clever, out-of-the-box clever, designs and concepts.

cupcakes in a jar.

Cupcakes in a jar? Yup, cake and frosting – in a jar! A glass jar which might be a little heavy if you plan on having more than one cupcake.

But when you order Red Velvet, Lemon Passion, Chocolate Nutter, Carrot Passion, Victoria Sponge or just Simply Vanilla, I am sure you will be left with that feeling of ‘just one more bite’.

“Since the jars can be reused or recycled, they are environmentally friendly.” Says the mother of three who is the creator of these G desserts.

It is after 9pm, but I think it is tea time.

line block.

My goodness, just imagine this.

There are not many things that annoy me and make my skin crawl, but messy cables? Definitely one of those things.

“Line Block cables are constructed in such a way that they can tag 2 or more wires in a piggy-back fashion. Essentially this means that if the gadgets have this unique structured cable, they line up one-atop-the-other and split out only near the socket, to give a neat finish.”

I would like to see these for myself, but for now I am really liking the idea.

cdefgabc.

Other than being completely blown away by Lernert and Sander, I love what they have to say about their glass harp.

“Commit and dedicate yourself to even the most stupid ideas that come to mind.”

And then you just do, do, do!

Again, commit and dedicate yourself to even the most stupid ideas that come to mind.

There you go. What do you plan on doing next?

where good ideas come from.

Thanks to Greg for sharing this one.

one for you.

Every time I see this business card, I cannot help but smile. How clever? You can have one, but you might as well share it with someone else.

I just love it when people think.

And what about Top Shelf?

Smile.
