Okay, you have to see more of these leaf ties by Lufdesign.

If leaves are not your “thing”, they have a fork and cream sauce too.

Wouldn’t you want to tie these around just about anything and everything? Adding a little leafy accessory, designed by Lufdesign, to random things in and around your home.

Seriously, when was the last time 2 little leaves made you smile?

blackboard brooch.

The love we have for blackboards (yes, you know you love it too). How about a blackboard brooch by Sydney-based designer Zoe Brand? These are available in square or oval speech bubble shapes and you can wear it on yourself, your bag or wherever you would like to have your say. Fun!

They sell for $105. No thanks.

You already saw the photo of the day, now it is time for the message of the day.

jump.

Why? Because Phillipe Halsman said so and when he told people like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor, Richard Nixon, Dali – and a few others – to jump, they all just asked “how high?” – love it!

Yes, I would love to have this very *expensive* book please.

coney island by uhuru.

My blender and I discovered a Chocolate-Coffee-Banana Milkshake and at the same time I came across the Coney Island Line by Uhuru. It really is a great evening of some pretty amazing discoveries.

Wait, Coney Island Line? Yeah, that place with the rides. You know, you have seen it in the movies a few times and if you were lucky enough you might have even been there and screamed while on The Cyclone.

Uhuru has Coney Island furniture! The Cyclone Lounger has to be my favorite, but there are many pieces to choose from.

Boardwalk Console – The reclaimed wood surface of our console echoes the inlaid pattern of the original boardwalk, as seen from above. The play of scale however, from the miniature nail-heads to the thinly cut Ipe, changes the context of the original design and adds an element of surprise. The wood sits atop a blackened steel base. Can’t get enough!

Drop end table – The Parachute Jump, a historical landmark punctuating the panorama of Coney Island, influenced the design of this end table. Once part of the World’s Fair, the now defunct ride looms over the rest of the park. Uhuru captures its essence through mechanical connections on a steel base, crowned with a faceted Ipe top.

Others include: Wonder Coffee Table, Drum Lamp, Saison Mirror – clicky here!

what's that color?

Ever wonder what that color you love so much is called? Yup, believe it or not – all those hexadecimal colors have names.

What’s That Color is a clever little site that will tell you the name of the color and when it’s a few shades lighter or darker you will spot an “almost” at the bottom right corner. Clever!

If you are like me, you will try another, and another, and another… fun! You can submit more colors too.

What’s your color?

bag cap.

Copco‘s bag cap is honestly the best thing since sliced bread.
How amazingly cool and clever is this? Makes me want to “bag-n-cap” everything.

“The Bag Cap seals in the freshness of bagged foods without removing the item from its original packaging. Simply attach the two-piece Bag Cap to your open bag, then when you need some chips, candy, frozen vegetables or grains, simply flip open the cap and pour out as much or as little as you need. After you’re done, snap the cap closed and store.”

Too awesome.

know-it-all pencil set.

26 Mar

Gone are the days of “these kids are dumb and lazy”. Stick these onto errrthang, pah-leez! How great are these? I would love to have a little – sometimes unknown – fact on every single, pencil, pen or marker that I own.

You are never too old (or to young) to learn – thanks to the Curiosity Shoppe.
