labrinth live lounge.

Yes, I have been spending way too much time at YouTube (see below).

Timothy MacKenzie, better known as Labrinth is 22 years old. He is a singer-songwriter and producer – he does pretty much everything himself, and he does it well.

I am really excited to see what he will do next. Album pah-leez. (Soon.)

Usually there are 3 things that you do not talk about: religion, politics and music. Yes, music. But how amazing is this month’s performance at the Radio 1 Live Lounge? Oh my, oh my.

Blown away.

karmin.

KAR·MIN [car-men] -noun, in Latin meaning ‘song’, with altered spelling to hint ‘karma’.

Percussion and voice, what more do you need? Add guitar and you have what I would like to call magic. I am still blown away by their talent and the simplicity of their music.

Can simplicity blow you away? Probably not, but in this case uhhh-huh! Yesss.

Head over to Karmin’s YouTube channel, you will looove them. Here’s to Nick and Amy!

poison & wine.

There is something about this song that makes me want to play it again. Watching the video, might make you want to consume poison and wine, because the soppy factor has been turned up to something close to depression.

Take a few minutes, hit play and admire the view (I really hope that you have one).

The rest of the day will be dedicated to east coast hip hop. Uh, bounce with me.

high & dry.

Please note: If you prefer a version without people screaming, then you should probably click here instead.

This week a friend shared a video of Jamie Cullum singing Rihanna songs. As you do, I clicked on the related videos and found a few gems. Yes, I said ‘gems’.

Today another friend mentioned High & Dry by Radiohead. Jamie, I love this version too.

Now if you will excuse me, there are a few more ‘related videos’.

mini warbler: kellen mirador sarmiento.

Glee can be very annoying at times. Okay, most of the time. I stopped watching Season 2, because I could not take it anymore.

Earlier today a friend called to ask if I would like to go to the movies – we ended up watching Glee: The 3D Concert. Yes, I did sing out loud and danced in my seat. There were about 30 people in the cinema (oops), but they did not seem to mind. Yesss, I will be going again during the week, to watch it again. Yes, again.

Singing, dancing, Gleeks sharing their stories and then you are introduced to Kellen, the Mini Warbler.

I could not stop laughing and aw-ing. How can you not love Kellen? My hero.

hey you!

Today feels like Monday. The ‘Follow Fridays’ on Twitter corrected me a few times and I kid you not – every time it was followed by a ‘ohhh yes, it’s Friday’. Followed by a ‘duh’.

Duh.

While we are confessing, I will be honest, and at the same time I will have to apologize, but I have not even heard some of these songs. Yes, I know the artists, but the songs (some) are a little bit unfamiliar.

Thank you Bobby for ‘introducing’  me to some of these songs. This is exactly why I wanted to do these playlists in the first place. Yay that!

Here we go, a Bobbylicious playlist.

Queen – Hammer to Fall
Biffy Clyro – Many of Horror
She and Him – In the Sun
Chasing Friday – Take my Hand
Florence and the Machine – Dog Days Are Over

What is currently on your playlist?, a question I have recently asked a few bloggers and the responses have been great. Their lists are very different and that makes it even more fun.

And because I like these playlists so much, why not share it? The first playlist is thanks to Marco / Man of The Cloth. Marco sent a much longer list than the one below, but I shortened it a bit :)

Happy listening!

So, what is currently on your playlist?

yesterday was hard on all of us.

No it was not. Yesterday was a great day, but that is what Fink‘s latest single is called. I would love to go to one of his ‘intimate’ shows again. Sitting at his feet is considered an intimate show, right? Yes, I thought so.

We love your guitar-playing, Fin Greenall.

Thank you Vera for sharing this song :)
