I am ‘almost there’, I have never been this close.
Not much left to say, other than – it will be here soon and things are happening.
Yes, I said happening. Finally happening.
This makes happeee. Triple ‘e’.

Clever and eco-friendly lids by Jack Bresnahan, who is a recent design school graduate. I love student work. Still so fresh and always creative thinking (well, for some).
What makes me love him even more? He said: “anything that ends up in landfill is simply poor design”. Amen brother!
Time to eat more guava halves, because I will need a few more tins.

One more thing, turn up the volume!
Born to a throne, stronger then Rome
A violent prone, poor people zone
But it’s my home, all I have known
Where I got grown, streets we would roam
Out of the darkness, I came the farthest
Among the hardest survivors
Learn from these streets, it can be bleak
Except no defeat, surrender, retreat
So we strugglin’, fightin’ to eat
And we wonderin’, when we’ll be free
So we patiently wait for that fateful day
It’s not far away, but for now we say
When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag
Ohhhhh, ohhhhh, ohhhhh, ohhhhh!!
Give me freedom, give me fire, give me reason, take me higher
See the champions, take the field now, unify us, make us feel proud
In the streets are, hands uplifting, as we lose our inhibition,
Celebration it’s around us, every nation’s all around us
Singin’ forever young, singin’ songs underneath that sun
Let’s rejoice in the beautiful game, and together at the end of the day
When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag
Now wave your flag
Now wave your flag
Now wave your flag
Ohhhhh
When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag
Now wave your flag
Now wave your flag
Now wave your flag
Ohhhhh

So many wars, settlin’ scores
Bringin’ us promises, leavin’ us poor
I heard ‘em say, love is the way
Love is the answer, that’s what they say
But look how they treat us
Make us believers, we fight their battles
Then they deceive us
Tried to control us, they couldn’t hold us
Cuz we just moved forward like buffalo soldiers
But we strugglin’, fightin’ to eat
And we wonderin’, when we’ll be free
So we patiently wait for that fateful day
It’s not far away, but for now we say
When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag
Just like a wavin’ flag
Just like a wavin’ flag
Flag, flag, just like a wavin’ flag

Strangely creepy, yet I cannot stop staring. Yeah, they knocked both “birds” out, but at the same time it is “cute”. No, it is not cute, I did not say that. No, no, no – it is creepy and that is all.
Who said you need fancy gadgets to keep yourself entertained? Like I said earlier, go back to pen and paper. Well, in this case paper and something to cut the paper with.
“Paper Dreams” is a Junior Degree Project, by Kenneth Onulak, that he worked on over his Spring semester at RISD.
“I wanted the animation to have a dream like quality exploring the reality and space in which the dream exists and felt that the cutout technique fit this idea. Color was another consideration that I built into the design of the animation to help enhance the dreamlike qualities of the film. From here the idea grew and as I did studies involving birds, umbrellas, water, trees, and other things I was able to refine my idea and break it down to find the core essentials of the film.”
The final film took 12 weeks to complete, has beautiful music by John Nolan, he thanked his Grandma, and I think I will watch it again – just because.

When last did you throw a frisbee? For all the 90s kids, it is a round thing that you throw at your friend – your friend catches it and throws it back at you. No, not a ball. A ball is also round, but a frisbee is flat. A frisbee is round and flat, kind of like the way some people see the world. Flat, but round.
Oh, nevermind. You will most likely see hairy men with gold chains and Speedos, sporting frisbees at the beach.
“Creative people who like to play.” No, not the hairy men – right now I am talking about you and Freestyle Magazine. Issue 02 is out and you can buy it online, but what makes it so much better than all the other magazines that you can buy (and read) online?
This:
You choose your favorite frisbee color (different for each issue of the magazine) – preferably a color that will match your Speedo (or not).

Then you place your order. Who would have guessed? A magazine tucked inside your frisbee.

Issue 02 features Paul Smith. Hello Mr Man!

I am a cereal mixer. Yes, you will always spot 2 types of cereal in my bowl of milk (2% please).
My favorite mix at the moment is a berry mix: Kellogg’s Special K (red berries) and All Bran Flakes. But lately I decided to cut down on all the crazy cereal buying and stick to the “healthy” option. Plain ol’ Bran Flake something. It’s dull and I miss my red berries, but in the mean time I think Susan Dwyer’s ceramics and paper-mâché collection, Up in the Air Somewhere, might help to brighten my mornings sans the typical cereal mix.

Here is the best way to draw.
You will need:
1 x piece of paper (or maybe 93247893242 pieces of paper)*
1 x ink pen (preferably black)
Draw everything you see – quick, quick! You are drawing with ink, so there is no time for erasing or clicking an “undo” button. That is the best part of it all.
Instead of carrying 93247893242 pieces of paper with you, it might be best if you get a Moleskine. They come in all sizes. So go pick your favorite one.
* Once you start, you might not be able to stop.

Sarah Thorne must have had loads of fun designing the packaging for Topshop‘s make up range(s).
This might be a case of “if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life”.
I can already see her holding every little container, every little box in her hand, and just doodling onto it. Back to basics and like my teacher always said – “when you get stuck, go back to pen and paper”.
