a few little things.

Woah, have not been here in a minute. These few little things I would like to remember and share with you.

As we are nearing the new year, please be safe, be silly and be kind.

Unfortunately I do not have links to all these pictures (I tried…), if you do spot these online, please send the link – I would love to give credit where credit is due.

chromatic typewriter.

Oooh! A typewriter that paints. Replace keys with color pads. Woop! Not that I’ll be able to do anything with it, but it is worth a try. Would anyone like to order paintings just in time for the holidays? Send me an email – I’d love to try my best.

Super cute, but yet – sad.

Thank you Google Street View.
Thank you Theory Films.

Thank you Lorien :)

15 years vib – making of covers.

The ooh‘s and the aah‘s when it comes to blackboards. This however does not make me ooh or aah, well, not really – it brings out a Lady Gaga AAAOOOWWW!

No, I do not speak German.

“VIB is a life sciences research institute, based in Flanders, Belgium. They perform basic research with a strong focus on translating scientific results into pharmaceutical, agricultural and industrial applications. For their fifteenth anniversary, we did the entire event branding, for which we used only chalk and a huge blackboard. For this event we also designed a box with nine books in it. For the books only we made more then 200 large chalk drawings.”

seriously delicious.

Food, food, food – yes, it is all about food. As usual.

Other than the bacon, pancake and maple syrup stacks we have been making (vegan much?), there are quite a few recipes that I have been making that turned out to be seriously delicious. Recipes that I do not want to forget, because I want to make it again.

Recipe book alert! Need to write these down asap. Pictures and handwritten recipes, like my mom (and probably your gran) used to (still) do.

Warm Butternut Squash and Chickpea Salad

I have changed this recipe slightly and made a coconut milk dressing instead. Do not ask me how, I cannot remember. Coconut milk, lemon juice and stuff. Will figure than one out when I write it down.

Kale and Sweet Potato Soup

Sounds gross, tastes oh-so-goooood. Really, you can trust me on this one. I did not use kale though, but spinach instead.

Simple Chicken Curry

We did not take any pictures. We ate it all, fast. Too fast. Served it with roti and basmati rice (enough carbs?).

My requirements for a recipe? Um, 5 ingredients or less. Maybe 6 ingredients, but 7, that is just pushing it. This one has 6 ingredients, because I did not add the potatoes. The peas got left behind too. Chicekn and sauce.

Note: add salt and pepper to taste. Add 2 teaspoons of sugar if you prefer a slightly sweeter taste to your curry (it was yum).

Fresh Strawberry Pistachio Crumble

It is sweet, it is sour, it is dee-lee-ssscious. I made half, but stuck to the full amount when it comes to crumble. Next time I will have to make less. Or I do not know, more butter, or less butter? You decide.

Had left overs for lunch and it tasted even better than the day it was made. Yum! Last night, we served it with custard. Tasty, tasty – but I prefer it ice cold, straight outta the fridge.

That’s all folks!

There are quite a few more recipes, but I do not want to make you hungry…

move, eat, learn.

Amazing work.

3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage… all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food … into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films…

= a trip of a lifetime.

shevet achim.

Shevet Achim is a grace-based international community that brings children with congenital heart defects to the advanced medical centers in Israel.

I love the way they say that, ‘grace-based’.

My mamas is currently in Israel, volunteering at Shevet Achim and I have been getting daily updates about the children and the operations they are waiting for.

Yesterday they had 2 operations. First it was little Aya‘s turn and then Bilal. My mom told me about Bilal and his dad – and that I had to look at their blog for updates.

I am sure that it will be an emotional ride, but I would love to go there too. These little ones are always smiling and making jokes – even on the day of surgery.

Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘bless their hearts’.

Like many other children, Bilal needs a donation – if you want to help, please go to their website or email finances@shevet.org

Hearts made well. Hearts made one.

labrinth live lounge.

Yes, I have been spending way too much time at YouTube (see below).

Timothy MacKenzie, better known as Labrinth is 22 years old. He is a singer-songwriter and producer – he does pretty much everything himself, and he does it well.

I am really excited to see what he will do next. Album pah-leez. (Soon.)

Usually there are 3 things that you do not talk about: religion, politics and music. Yes, music. But how amazing is this month’s performance at the Radio 1 Live Lounge? Oh my, oh my.

Blown away.

the adventures of tintin.

Blown away by this sequence. Oh, the creativity.

melanie amaro.

‘Melanie Amaro’, that is all I have to say – and that I am obsessed with this show.
