complex b.

Beyonce. I am known for saying that I do not like her. There is Beyonce, the very quiet, lady-like um… lady, who looks ever so sweet. Then there’s Beyonce aka Sasha Fierce who likes to shake her bootay in every direction possible. Girl lost her pants too.

Fact, Beyonce screams. Yes, she can sing too, but she screams – and that, is why I do not like Beyonce.

However, I think Beyonce has one of the best female voices you will hear on the radio – okay, probably not one of the best, but the best. Full stop.

Girl, stop screaming, stick to singing.

Then, there is this photoshoot for Complex Magazine. Beyonce, I love you.

DIY bracelets.

Do you remember Friendship Bracelets? Someone sent me one from The Netherlands, probably 20 years ago. Um, or not – maybe 15 years ago? Err, enough about that.

I have posted these before, but I am posting it again as a reminder for myself and telling myself to make these. DIY ASAP. Now.

I reaaally like these wrap bracelets. Mostly because of the color combos. The possibilities are endless and you can pretty much make any outfit pop. Yeaahhy.

Oooh, and what about these beaded bracelets? More color, but with extra shine. Love, love, love.

Right, hopefully I will be this excited about these bracelets when I have time to hunt for all the materials. Um, Saturday? Let’s see…

If you have a favorite DIY website / blog that you would like to share, please do! I would love to know what you have made too.

Here is to a creative year ahead – and thank you HonestlyWTF for all the great DIY‘s.

florian nicolle.

Illustrations by Florian Nicolle. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. How a paint splash can create so much detail. I would love to have one of these in my home.

Bring on purple.

And there is more, where that came from.

yago hortal.

ColorSPLASH. In your face.

These make me happy for some reason. It also makes me think of frosting and strawberry scented candles. Not that I ever buy strawberry scented candles – we live in a vanilla and lavender house.

What do these, or rather – how do these make you feel? Headache?

All illustrations by Yago Hortal. I think I love you.

kulte s/s 2012.

What a clever way to showcase your new collection? Especially for a sportswear brand – so clever and no people running around looking sweaty. So striking.

Well done Kulte!

hattie stewart.

A little bit of crazy, a little bit of fun and a little bit of ‘Hey! I used to do that when I was little!’ I used to put make-up on the magazine cover girls. My Oupa does it too, but he usually adds facial hair and glasses.

Hattie Stewart obviously wins, but in a way I feel like saying ‘game on Hattie!’.

a few little things.

Woah, have not been here in a minute. These few little things I would like to remember and share with you.

As we are nearing the new year, please be safe, be silly and be kind.

Unfortunately I do not have links to all these pictures (I tried…), if you do spot these online, please send the link – I would love to give credit where credit is due.

chromatic typewriter.

Oooh! A typewriter that paints. Replace keys with color pads. Woop! Not that I’ll be able to do anything with it, but it is worth a try. Would anyone like to order paintings just in time for the holidays? Send me an email – I’d love to try my best.

15 years vib – making of covers.

The ooh‘s and the aah‘s when it comes to blackboards. This however does not make me ooh or aah, well, not really – it brings out a Lady Gaga AAAOOOWWW!

No, I do not speak German.

“VIB is a life sciences research institute, based in Flanders, Belgium. They perform basic research with a strong focus on translating scientific results into pharmaceutical, agricultural and industrial applications. For their fifteenth anniversary, we did the entire event branding, for which we used only chalk and a huge blackboard. For this event we also designed a box with nine books in it. For the books only we made more then 200 large chalk drawings.”
